Living in 3D:
Run Don’t Walk – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Acts 8:26-39
Key Verse: Acts 8:30
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
Let’s continue our study of the interaction of Philip and the Ethiopian official. After God’s initial work and leadership in Philip’s life, it was time for Philip to go into action. According to verse 27, Philip met the Ethiopian and then walked close to his chariot. After Philip met him and walked along with him, Philip asked a question to open up the conversation. The Ethiopian’s heart was open to help and having the conversation with Philip. The bottom line is, Philip shared the Good News of Jesus and the Ethiopian accepted Jesus and was baptized. Please note, when the door of opportunity opened, Philip ran to obey!
Is it possible that you will meet someone today that God has His finger on? Would you be willing to “walk alongside” this person, developing a first level friendship? After a while, could you share your story and understanding of how God changed your life, when the opportunity is presented? God does not need us to be brilliant theologians. God simply needs us to be willing and passionate about seeing others come to faith. Why not offer your life to God today? You do not have to manufacture anything. We are distributors of what God has already created. Let’s stay in step with His Spirit today!
Father, I give myself to you for your use in helping others come to you. Grant me your wisdom as I interact with people who are far from you today! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
