The Single Greatest Gift:
While We Were Sinners – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Romans 5:1-7
Key Verse: Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since God gave us this salvation while we were still sinners, at our lowest state of worthiness; since God was willing to look beyond our sinfulness, are we willing to look beyond the unworthiness of those around us and tell them about this gift of God? Are we willing to watch for an opportunity to tell someone about God’s wonderful gift?
Like most people, we hesitate to tell our friends and family about this gift of God. We hesitate for a variety of reasons. Most of our reasons do not center on any thought of being ashamed of God or His gift. Our hesitation is more about the people in need of this gift. First, we may fear that we can’t answer all their questions. Second, we may fear that our presentation of what God offers won’t be adequate. Third, we may feel rejection—many rejected Christ Himself. Finally, we may not know a lot of people, outside our circle of friendships that are lost without hope. We know them generally, but we have not taken time to know them well enough to share Christ with them.
This month we are going to look at ways to eliminate all these fears and obstacles to sharing this single greatest gift of God with people around us. It does take a dose of courage, but not as much as the devil wants to convince you it will take! God provides where He guides!
Father, I will praise you throughout eternity for the wonderful gift you have given me. Please open doors for me to introduce others to you! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
